On Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18, St. David’s Church and the Burbank Seventh Day Adventist Church in Burbank, CA will conduct a workshop to educate and train individuals and businesses to prepare for and survive a major earthquake. The workshop will be held at the Burbank Seventh Day Adventist Church, 710 S Glenoaks Blvd., Burbank, CA 91502. This workshop aims to equip for survival even as the region braces for “the next big one.” Between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 17, the Burbank Seventh Day Adventist Church will host the workshop. On May 18, St. David’s Church will conduct the workshop during the10:30 AM service, the training on that day will continue till 3:00 PM. Members of the City Fire Department will provide essential information about preparing for cataclysmic events like the megathrust earthquake. Community Emergency Response Team volunteers will be on hand to provide valuable tips to prepare for and survive an earthquake. Participants of the workshop will be able to purchase emergency supplies like non-perishable food, bottled water, hand cranked radios and flashlights, whistles or other signaling devices, and other such essentials. St. David’s Church and the Burbank Seventh Day Adventist Church are faith based non-profit organizations constantly exploring opportunities to reach out and assist the community in various ways.
