When a 6-foot tall monument of the Ten Commandments was erected on Oklahoma Capitol grounds, “Pandora’s Box” was opened, according to lawyer David Slane. According to Reuters.com, Slane insists, "If the state does not allow the other monuments, then it's in violation of the Equal Protection Clause." Now, in order to resolve the suit filed by the ACLU against the monument’s constitutionality, other religious groups in the area are offering plans monuments to be placed alongside the Ten Commandments.

A New York-based Satanic Temple is offering to donate an “homage to Satan.” Lucien Greaves (a designated spokesperson) when asked what the display might look like, said he didn’t want to “reveal too much about the possible design options,” but that one design “is an interactive display for children.” A Hindu organization in Reno, Nevada is also intending to apply for permission to include a statue of Lord Hanuman, Hindu monkey king. The President of the Universalist Society of Hinduism released a statement saying, “[B]esides honoring the Hindus living in Oklahoma, this statue would raise awareness of Oklahomans about Hinduism, [the] oldest and third largest religion of the world with about one billion adherents and a rich philosophical thought.”
